11. Flirty Little Dresses

After some seasons just craving for midi lengths, seems that the super mini lengths are back (and don't get me wrong, for me the midi could be here forever!!)! The mini dresses came to highlight our legs, always paired with knee high boots or fancy flats! Basically, it's another way to get into the 60's mood, and what a perfect mood it is!

Depois de umas temporadas a venerar apenas os comprimentos midi, parece que o mini se revoltou e regressou em grande força (não me entendam mal, estou tão apaixonada pelo midi, que por mim ficava para sempre!!). Os mini vestidinhos regressam para deixar as nossas pernas em alto destaque, sempre combinados com botas pelo joelho ou sapatos rasos cheios de brilho e personalidade! Basicamente, é outra forma de entrar no mood 60's, e que mood perfeito é esse!

Resort 2015 Report

The months of May and June were fulfilled of presentations for the Resort season, and it came so perfectly at this moment, after all, the most of the countries are starting to live the Summer right now, and Resort collections are all about funny colors, interesting patterns and fresh clothes, meaning, inspiration to wear in this precise moment! I've selected my favorite collections, and believe me when I say that it was a truly tricky thing to do, so in the end, we have the usual loose pieces.

Os meses de Maio e Junho são completamente preenchidos pelas apresentações da temporada Resort, e vêm em tão bom momento, afinal, estamos agora a viver o início do Verão, e as colecções Resort são tudo acerca de cores giras e divertidas, padrões interessantes e roupas frescas, o que significa, inspiração para vestir já, já, já! Seleccionei as minhas colecções favoritas, e acreditem quando digo que foi uma tarefa verdadeiramente complicada, e no final, temos as habituais peças soltas.

What there is to love? The fancy pencil skirts, made by really interesting and unusual fabrics, that were so perfectly mixed with the top garments.

O que há para amar? As saias lápis, feitas de tecidos interessantes e pouco usuais, que foram perfeitamente misturadas com todas as restantes peças.

Round-up into NYFW

E hoje foi o derradeiro dia da semana da moda de Nova Iorque, o último dia de desfiles daquela que foi considerada a melhor semana da moda do mundo. O que melhor do que compilar todos os favoritos e detalhes interessantes num só post? Não posso dizer que amei esta semana, mas se há coisa que é para aplaudir e admirar foi a realidade que por lá se viveu: pronto-a-vestir verdadeiramente pronto-a-vestir, do género pegar e inspirarmo-nos já neste preciso momento e sair à rua, nada de muita fantasia e irrealidade pelas passarelas, quase apenas e só inspiração verdadeira para mulheres reais por esse mundo fora.

And today was the last day of NYFW, the last day of fashion shows of that one that has been elected as the best fashion week in the world. What would be better for today than review every single favorite and interesting detail in one only post? I won't say that I loved a lot this week, but if there is something we could all admire and applaud, that's the reality that have been seen around there: ready to wear that was really ready to wear, like we could just look at those looks and inspire us for this precisely moment with similar pieces, nothing of too much fantasy on those fashions shows, almost just and only true inspiration for true women around the world.

The Skirts of SS14

As saias são, para mim, uma peça super essencial o ano inteiro, mas claro que é no Verão que entram no seu auge... Acho que quase ninguém resiste a uma ou mais saia durante a estação quente! Por isso, depois do arco-irís da próxima estação, vamos espreitar as saias da vez...

The skirts are for me a essential piece during the whole year, but of course that it's a piece that achieves it peak during the Summer... I believe that almost anyone could resist to one or more skirt during the hot season!  So, after the rainbow of next season, let's look at the skirts we'll be wearing...

Saias Cruzadas: um dos maiores hits da próxima estação, a ideia é deixar as nossas pernas brilhar, com todo o destaque possível. Pessoalmente, quanto mais compridas, mais eu adoro o resultado, como no primeiro look.

Fendas: a ideia permanece no destaque às pernas, mas tende a ser um pouco mais discreto, e diria mesmo, elegante.

Crossover Skirts: one of the biggest hits for next season. The idea is basically to leave your legs be the stars, with all the highlight that is possible. I'm loving the longer versions, like in the first look.

Splits: the idea remains the same, but it tends to be a little bit more discrete, and I would even say, more elegant.

The Rainbow of Spring 2014

O início do ano é quase sinónimo automático de já só conseguirmos pensar no que vem aí... Afinal, passamos o ano inteiro a sonhar com o Verão, com o calor e com muita cor, e em pleno Janeiro já não há muito em que pensar sobre o Inverno e já tendemos a estar todas mais que fartas do frio e da chuva, certo meninas? Vamos começar a abrir o apetite à Primavera, sim? E o que melhor do que uma inteira palette de cores para nos pormos já a sonhar!? Cor é sinónimo de Verão, e isso já é tudo o que queremos.

The beginning of the year is an automatic synonymous of a big curiosity about what's next... After all, we spend the whole year dreaming about Summer, about the heat & with lots of color, and in the middle of January I truly believe we're already so sick of the cold and the rain, there is literally nothing more to think about the Winter, right ladies? So, let's start looking little by little into Spring? And what could be better than a whole palette of colors to make us a dream about!? After all, color is the greatest synonymous of Summer, and that is all we want right now.

Red Carpet Season: 10 (20!!) Dresses I Would Love to See

A temporada dos tapetes vermelhos está a chegar, e eu não resisti a partilhar convosco 10 vestidos ou quase-vestidos que adorava ver em alguma celebridade, num dos imensos eventos que ocorrem durantes os próximos dois meses! Celebridades deste mundo, façam-me a vontade: esmerem-se, apareçam lindas e maravilhosas, e já agora escolham algum destes vestidinhos, ahaha. Até dia 2 de Março, data dos Óscares, esperam-se MUITOOS tapetes vermelhos para fazer as nossas delícias, ou pelo menos assim esperamos...

The Red Carpet season is almost starting, and I just couldn't resist to show you 10 dresses or almost-dresses that I would love to see on some celebrity, in any of those events that occurs during the following two months! So, celebrities of this world, please make my wish: show us the best of you, appear gorgeous, and with one of those dresses preferably, haha. Until 2th March, Oscars date, we will be expecting a LOT of red carpets to make our delights, or at least we hope that... 

Reem Acra | Amor à primeira vista, what else!?

Alice + Olivia | Adorava tanto ver assim um conjunto crop + saia longa. Tão feminino e bem fora do óbvio.

Elie Saab | O designer acerta sempre... Tantas opções maravilhosas por Elie, mas este é sem dúvida a minha eleição. Elegante, bonito e eterno.

Giambattista Valli | Bem sei que o mullet foi uma tendência mais que saturada, mas este vestido é todo ele muito especial!

J. Mendel | Para um bom tapete vermelho, um fabuloso vestido vermelho não pode falhar.

Reem Acra | Love at first sight, what else!?

Alice + Olivia | I would love so much to see a crop + long skirt on the red carpet. So feminine and so out of the obvious.

Elie Saab | The designer that always makes the best of the best... So many marvelous options, but this one is my favorite one. Elegant, beautiful and eternal.

Giambattista Valli | I know that the mullet was a more than saturated trend, but this dress looks so special.

J. Mendel | For a good red carpet, a fabulous red dress couldn't be missing.

NYFW III

Hora de brincar novamente aos favoritos...

Já se sabe que o fim costuma ser sempre a melhor parte,

e nesta NYFW, a história repetiu-se, e os desfiles finais deixaram-me realmente impressionada!

Time to play favorites, once again...

We already know that the end turns to be the best,

and on this NYFW, the history repeats, so the final fashion shows completely impressed me!

50's are here Ladies!

O retorno ao passado é irresistível... Sonhar com as vivências de outro tempo,

traz-nos inevitavelmente a curiosidade e uma certa necessidade de revivalismo.

E isso vive-se constantemente na moda, que se faz sobre um constante ciclo vicioso,

desta vez, a inspiração são os anos 40 e 50,

com as suas irresistíveis saias rodadas e/ou com as cinturas super delineadas,

que são uma presença mais que confirmada nas colecções para a estação fria!

Os comprimentos também eles mais compostos, desceram para baixo do joelho!

Vem aí um Inverno como à muito já não estamos habituadas,

e não há dúvida que a aura que transbordou dos fashion shows é capaz de fazer qualquer uma sonhar!

The return to the past is irresistible... Dream about the experiences of another time,

inevitably brings us a big curiosity and a feeling of revival.

And that is constantly lived in fashion, that always concludes in a vicious cycle,

this time, in a clear inspiration into 40's and 50's,

with it irresistible circle skirts and/or ultra defined waists,

that are a more than confirmed presence for the Fall/Winter collections!

The lengths also requires to be more respectful, a little down of the knee!

The Winter is coming as we never seen,

and there is no doubt that the feeling that overflowed from the fashion shows

is capable of making anyone dream about!

From Runway to Real Life - Peter Som, Akris, Oscar de la Renta

Quando nos apaixonamos pelos looks apresentados pelas grandes marcas

costumam-nos restar duas opções:

- esperar que Zara & afins se inspirem nas peças que amámos;

- pôr em prática um look similar com o nosso closet.

Apesar de tudo, bastantes vezes os looks apresentados nos desfiles

são bastante usáveis e reproduzíveis na nossa rotina diária!

Basta abrirem os vossos roupeiros, e aposto que ficaram surpresas

com a versatilidade de peças que nem se lembram que têm..

When we fell in love by some look presented by the big brands

we have two options:

- wait that Zara or others get inspired on the pieces that we loved;

- or try a similar look with the pieces of our closet.

After all, lots of the looks presented on the runways

are quite wearable and reproducible on our diary routine!

Just open your closet and surprise yourself with the versatility

of the pieces that you don't even remember you have there..

Aquela que é uma espécie de irmã mais nova da marca do criador Marc Jacobs,

tem como audiência um público mais jovem,

e isso nota-se nos modelos apresentados no desfile!

Gritam conforto e estilo, e vão buscar inspiração ao estilo vintage,

mas com uma veia bem colegial!

Destaque – O burgundy permanece para mais uma estação fria!

This brand is like a younger sister of the main brand of Marc Jacobs,

with younger consumers as target,

and that is well notorious on the models presented in the fashion show!

It screams comfort and style, and it has some vintage inspiration,

but with a touch of very high school style.

Highlight - The burgundy remains for another cold season!

Cores fortes, modelos apaixonantes e divertidos,

que não deixam passar uma quase natural elegância imanente.

Provavelmente, a minha colecção preferida da NYFW.

Oscar sabe brincar com os modelos e criar peças fascinantes!

Destaque – Aqueles dois últimos vestidos inspirados no barroco, sem dúvida que foram o ponto alto do desfile!

Bright colors, passionate and funny models,

without letting go an almost natural immanent elegance.

Probably, my favorite collection from NYFW.

Oscar surely knows how to play with the models and create fascinating pieces of clothing!

Highlight - Those last two dresses inspired on baroque, were undoubtedly the high point of the show!

Com um cenário que parece inspirado nos nossos azulejos típicos,

as peças aparentavam sobriedade e elegância simultânea.

O romantismo surge como inevitável neste desfile,

com os inúmeros ornamentos e pormenores nos vestidos.

Destaque – O veludo enquanto tecido parece estar para voltar!

With a scenario that seems to be inspired on the typical Portuguese tiles,

the pieces had sobriety and elegance.

The romanticism came out as inevitable on this show,

with the numerous ornaments and details on the dresses.

Highlight - The velvet as dress seems to be back!

Vera Wang não é só uma das melhores a fazer vestidos de noiva,

como também sabe fazer colecções ready to wear

com aquele toque de inevitável adoração!

Destaque – Querooo tanto aquela capa de pêlo preta!!

Vera Wang is not only one of the best at the time to do fabulous wedding dresses,

as she also knows how to do ready to wear collections

with a touch of inevitable adoration!

Highlight - I want so badly that black fur cape!!

Um designer que tem sido uma óptima revelação!

Desta vez o pêlo recebeu o destaque central no desfile,

e quase todas as peças tiveram direito a pequenos detalhes em pêlo..

Destaque – Os casacos com as aplicações em pêlo são tão maravilhosamente perfeitos!

A designer that has been a great revelation!

This time, the fur as been the center of the show,

and almost every piece has been entitled with some details on that material..

Highlight - The coats with fur applications are just so perfect!!

É claro que o que mais amamos em Marchesa é a Couture,

Mas não há como resistir a um belo ready to wear,

Especialmente se estiver impregnado com o toque único de Marchesa!

Mais uma vez, peças cheias de inspiração barroca,

algumas flores, e muitos folhos!

Destaque – A delicadeza dos tecidos é deliciosa.

Of course the most we love on Marchesa is the Couture,

but there is no way to resist to a beautiful ready to wear,

specially if it's with the unique touch of Marchesa!

Once more, pieces fulfilled of baroque inspiration,

some flowers and many ruffles!

Highlight - The delicacy of the fabrics is just delicious.

Uma colecção de cores básicas mas com modelagens cheias de vida!

Os tecidos são mais do que sedutores,

Que aliados a formas e volumes curiosos na maioria das peças

Resultaram numa colecção com um aspecto muito clean, mas também improvável.

Destaque – Os cortes e recortes ao longo das peças.

A collection of basic colors but with modelings filled of life!

The tissues are more than seductive,

that allied to the curious shapes and volumes presents on the most of the pieces,

has resulted in a collection with a very clean aspect, but also improbable.

Highlight - The cuts and re-cuts along the pieces.

Já todos sabemos que Marc Jacobs não é pessoa para seguir regras,

E parece que desta vez ele desejava ir de encontro ao cinzento.

As peças são básicas em cores, mas extravagantes em tecidos –

Pêlo, tweed, lantejoulas, metalizados –

Toda uma panóplia de texturas misturadas..

Destaque – Posso ter aquele fantástico vestido em pêlo!?

We all already know that Marc Jacobs is not a person to follow orders,

and seems that this time he wanted the grey color!

The pieces are color basics, but with very fancy tissues -

Fur, tweed, sparkles, metallics -

a true panoply of mixed textures..

Highlight - Can I have that amazing amazing fur dress!?

Red Carpet | What Would I Wear to the Oscars

A temporada dos tapetes vermelhos inicia-se algures no início de Janeiro,

 e extende-se até aos Oscars:

o evento mais esperado do mundo do cinema,

que ocorre já na semana que vem!

É nesta data que avistamos os vestidos mais fascinantes da temporada!

Qualquer um destes vestidos seriam perfeitos, se a escolha me coubesse.

Vamos esperar e ter esperança de ver algumas belezas no tapete vermelho!

The season of red carpets begins sometime in January,

and goes until the Oscars:

the most expected event of the world of cinema,

that occurs already next week!

It's on this date that we see the most fascinating dresses of the season!

Any of these dresses look like a perfect choice.

Let's wait and hope seeing some beauties on the red carpet!

Runway | New York Fashion Week SS13

A New York Fashion Week já acabou, e para mim está na hora de fazer o rescaldo. Deixo-vos com as peças que mais me fascinaram nas minhas colecções favoritas!

The New York Fashion Week is over and now it's time for me to make some conclusions. I leave you with the pieces that fascinated me the most and into my favorite collections!

O senhor Oscar de la Renta desta vez deixou-me verdadeiramente louca, é completamente de morrer de desejo e sem dúvida a minha colecção preferida! Parece que saltámos directamente para um mundo recheado de doces e magia onde tudo é possível, quero cor e muita cor para o próximo Verão!

Mr. Oscar de la Renta this time left me really crazy, is completely to die for and undoubtedly my favorite collection! Looks like we jumped directly into a world full of sweetness and magic where anything is possible, I want lots of color and color for the next summer!

Carolina Herrera é uma das designers de moda que eu mais admiro devido à sobriedade sempre presente nas suas colecções que tornam qualquer mulher mais elegante. Este ano a aposta foi para os tons pastel com muitos toques de cor-de-laranja em jeito de contraste, o resultado é fantástico. Para concluir, nada como um cinto para realçar a nossa silhueta.

Carolina Herrera is one of the fashion designers that I admire the most because of the sobriety always present in her collections that makes any woman even more elegant. This year, the choice went for several pastel shades with touches of orange-colored in a way of contrast and the result is fantastic. To conclude, nothing like a belt to enhance our silhouette.

Marchesa foi buscar inspiração à Indía e o resultado foram peças elegantes com um ligeiro toque oriental. Mas tenho a dizer que esta colecção Marchesa me desiludiu. Não que não esteja admirável, mas não é o que a marca nos tem habituado, faltam os vestidos majestosos e de sonho.

Marchesa inspired in India and it resulted in elegant pieces with a slight oriental touch. But I have to say that this Marchesa collection disappointed me. Not that is not wonderful, but it is not what the brand has accustomed us, it lacks the majestic and dreamy dresses.

A colecção apresentada por Diane von Furstenberg é bem mais extensa e diversificada do que o que eu aqui vos apresento, mas a verdade é que me apaixonei perdidamente por esta versão do colour block. Sempre fui fã da tendência logo desde os seus primórdios, mas bem sabemos que é difícil ter sucesso e esta colecção é uma grande inspiração. Além disso, sou louca por cintos statement.

The collection presented by Diane von Furstenberg is much more extensive and diversified than what I am presenting here but I'm in love with this version of color block. I have always been a fan of this trend right from the very beginning but we know that it is difficult to succeed well and this collection is a big inspiration. Also, I am crazy about statement belts.

Aqui está um designer que não conhecia e que me apaixonou! Adorei os tecidos fluidos e os tons pastel em realce, o que nos leva a concluir que a tendência permanecerá em todo o seu esplendor. Para variar, nada como um pouco de cor como o laranja ou esse roxo.

Here is a designer who I did not know about and that I fell in love! Loved the fluid tissues and that pastel shades, which leads us to conclude that the trend remains in all its splendor. For a change nothing like a bit of color like orange or purple.
